WHAT ABOUT FSBOs? For sale by owner is a concept that does not ultimately lend itself well to condos, however some Sellers feel that they can exercise their right under law and sell their own condo without professional council or representation. Condos not normally allow yard signs or signage of any description so attempts to sell are usually limited to local papers. As my client you may see a FSBO in the paper. Simply contact me and let me contact the seller. You certainly can contact them directly but unless you know the real estate business and/or they know the real estate business (and laws surrounding and inherent to the real estate business) there are some critical issues which may be overlooked. You are best protected (and so are they) to be represented by a professional who will make sure that absolutely every legal hurdle is met. Again, we are dealing with hundreds of thousands of dollars in the conventional condominium transaction . . . do you want to bet your quarter million on your own knowledge or that of another lay person?
