Help Fight The Proposed Land Transfer Tax Increase James McCloskey The City of Toronto is proposing to charge a second land transfer tax that means a 100% increase for home buyers. City Council recently postponed a decision on this proposal, but it is scheduled to come forward again in October. With a provincial election scheduled for October 10, now is the time to tell provincial and municipal politicians that a 100% increase in land transfer taxes is not the right solution to the City's financial challenges and that PROVINCIAL ACTION IS NEEDED AND EXPECTED.
