Mississauga
skyline set to become much sexier
A twisty, curvaceous condo building will give a sexy
new look to the Mississauga skyline.
It was chosen from 92 submissions from 70 countries in a contest put on by development
firm Cityzen Development Group and Fernbrook Homes.
Designed by the Beijing office of U.S. architectural firm MAD, the condo building will be
constructed on the corner of Hurontario Street and Burnhamthorpe Road, and will stand
out from anything else in the area. Located near Daniels No1 City Center, Tridels
Ovation and Davies Smith City Gate I and II. Absolute Condos is standing alone in their
design and putting its mark on the Mississauga Skyline.
MAD founder Yansong Ma said the design will help Mississauga develop its own distinct
character and identity. |

"We wanted to
do a more futuristic design," Ma told a news conference at the top of the CN Tower.
"We didn't want to do a sexy building, but the public thinks it's sexy."
The 450-suite tower will be
part of the Absolute Community condominium project currently under construction by the
project developers and contest organizers, Cityzen Development Group and Fernbrook Homes.
Three other buildings are now under construction or nearly completed on the site, and
another one is planned, in addition to the competition winner.
Dubbed 'Marilyn Monroe' the tower will stand head and shoulders above the others.
This building will become an icon in the Mississauga skyline and a focal point for
visitors to our great city. |
